What is Bucket?
Bucket is a real-time physical currency capture and virtualization platform utilizing blockchain technology that aims to accelerate humanity’s transition to a cashless society.
Bucket Technologies provides a software and blockchain based solution that facilitates coinless cash transactions, at the point-of-sale, wherever cash is used. Bucket will help facilitate the transition of physical coins and eventually paper bills into digital currency, and allow users to “cash- out” in a variety of ways (e.g., gift card, prepaid Visa credit card, charitable donation, cryptocurrencies, etc.). The Bucket technology stack consists of four primary tenets: The Bucket Blockchain Audit Ledger, Bucket Core (with an internal API for Identity Management), the Bucket Retailer API, and the Bucket Digital Wallet.
The Bucket back end uses a serverless architecture built on the Azure platform to provide global-scale performance while asynchronously distributing actions to the country/currency-specific Bucket Blockchain Audit Ledger. This hybrid solution allows us to simultaneously benefit from the responsiveness of an enterprise-grade cloud as well as the transparency and immutability of a blockchain. In addition, because edge-compute occurs on the Azure Cloud and transactions are asynchronously committed to the Audit Ledger, this allows for a blockchain implementation on a
higher-latency, no-transaction fee network while still maintaining a highly available and responsive product to the end users and yielding a completely public method for investors to evaluate our fundamentals directly from the blockchain.
