This problem is so big that the European parliament introduced the Falsified Medicines Directive (FMD) and the US Government has passed the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA). Both initiatives have laid out a legal framework to ensure that the origin of medication can be traced back to the manufacturer.
checkitsreal has developed a (patent pending) Blockchain based ecosystem which allows anyone to verify a product’s authenticity by simply scanning a QR code using the checkitsreal app.
The app can identify that the product has already been sold and is no longer available for purchase, protecting both the consumer and the supplier from fakes.
